R is for Rain

There are just nine more letters to go and funnily enough I’m actually stuck. What does R remind me of? Right now all I can think of is  RAIN.
When the temperature is hot and the sun beats down
And rivulets of sweat go down your back
When the air is filled with a stillness
That makes it hard to keep your eyes open.
All I can wish for is the RAIN.
A soft gentle shower that makes the earth damp
That quenches the thirst of the parched soil
The rain that will wash the dirt off the leaves
Making them green and squeaky clean
The first showers of  that make the cars skid
in the slush that is formed with the dust on the road.
The rain that brings forth peaches and apricots
and ripe red cherries from the valleys of Kashmir.
But I look up and see a sky
That’s still blue
With nary a hint of a rain cloud in sight.
