Skirt around the tree #ThursdayTreeLove

At the bottom of the lane from Little Po’s school is a magnificent tree with a pretty, flouncy, tiered skirt around the trunk.

I once captured this parasite in a leafy side lane at Gamdevi and my father actually identified it and told me it’s name .

The fuchsia efflorescence peeping out from the green leaves makes a pretty picture. Doesn’t it ?

I would appreciate it if anyone could identify this pretty parasite .

I m joining Parul on #ThursdayTreeLove.

Pretty it is indeed! The pink blossoms on the tree trunk and digitate leaves suggest the tree to be Kailashpati… And it does look like a tiered skirt!! 🙂

Thanks Archana I was sure that as a botanist you’d be able to identify it . The small green fruit have a thick skin. And I think the flowers look a bit like the Krishna Kamal -with 5 Pistils and 100 stamens ? I’m sure I’ve got that mixed up but you’ll know what I mean
