Happiness is ………………. #WriteOverthe Weekend

Raindrops and roses and whiskers on kittens trilled Maria, the young novice in Sound of Music.

  1. While raindrops and whiskers on kittens don’t make the cut, roses definitely make me happy. Especially those huge big ones, redolent with the fragrance of rose ( naturally). In fact, all flowers make me happy and even spying those flower sellers at the traffic signals make me want to reach out and grab a few blooms.
  2. A brisk walk with a gentle breeze early in the morning makes me happy. I find a morning walk invigorates me and keeps me fresh all day long.
  3. While I am far from athletic, a good yoga stretch makes me happy too. I feel great when I touch my head to my knees or do a shoulder stand.
  4. Opening a new book.
  5. A big fat diary at the beginning of the year.
  6. A good conversation with an interesting person
  7. A rainbow in the sky.
  8. A huge, big, healthy tree with a large canopy.
  9. A big hairy dog with a warm, wet,nose
  10. An afternoon snooze on my sofa.
  11. A movie in a theatre.
  12. A nicely told story in a well crafted book.
  13. A long drive to nowhere.
  14. A box of assorted chocolates
  15. A lazy day doing nothing
  16. A clean, tidy, cupboard
  17. A hot cup of soup and a crisp buttered toast on a cold winter’s day or a wet monsoon afternoon.
  18. The smell of good coffee brewing makes me happy.
  19. I feel happy when I get a whiff of Coco Chanel my favourite perfume .
  20. Songs by Abba make me happy and I can’t help singing along with my feet tapping.
  21. A big bowl of ice cream
  22. A postcard or letter from a friend. Even an email makes my spirits soar.
  23. Fresh clothes from the dhobi
  24. A nicely made bed with a soft pillow and a cuddly blanket.
  25. A creamy body lotion, scented soap and face cream.
  26. Shoes , shoes and shoes
  27. Loafing around in the shops
  28. Trying out new restaurants
  29. Fresh fruits of the season
  30. Well tailored clothes.

These 30 things make me happy but there are many, many more which I would not like to share but savour in privacy.

  1. If we rank the list across any bloggers, I believe that the aroma of the coffee will be on the top.

  2. Enjoy reading your list. No better than snuggling with a book, morning walk and yoga. Lovely!

  3. It is actually interesting to know what makes one happy. Very few people can list it down. Congratulations for listing 30 of them.

Loved reading your list here, Sunita. I, too, love a clean bed with fluffy pillows to hug…I don’t use a pillow under my head, but love hugging one, especially if I am reading a good book, or watching a movie. And, those freshly ironed clothes…ahh! And, chocolates…an entire box of those which I won’t share with anyone! 😛

    High five!!
