Every relationship has a shelf life #MondayMusings

  1. We have a maid, who worked in the household, when my husband was my sons age. She went off and came back after 20 years. I know that she has become old and the day is not far when we might have to pack her off to her home. But I am infact indebted to her for all the service she continues to render in our house.

  2. Relationships are fickle, thats what I have realised. People come into our lives and so many are no longer a part. Some end on a good note, some on a sour and some in a very random way. Perhaps the best thing is to move on for nothing lasts forever. This case seems its good she moved on though not in the best possible way.

  4. Relationships do come with a shelf life, I sincerely believe in this having seen people disappearing from my life and I have done the same too from others’. This is how it happens – some people just disappear. They do not have anything left to say or tell. May be they are too troubled from inside for whatever reasons and this causes them to do the act. But 20 years is a long time to be with someone and then abscond.

    1. Precisely ! She was staying in my house in a room just 5 feet away from mine !!!!! I think she was far too ungrateful. Who in Bombay gets a room with an attached bathroom all to oneself???

  5. Your post and catchy blog title really made me think as recently I had gone through a break up with a friend and still could not get over it. I think you are right, not every relation lasts forever…few hurt us when they end while a few, we happily let go off. Thanks for writing this piece.

  6. Agree relationships do come with a certani shelf life. SOme longer and some shorter, and some end on a bitter note. But as relationships go away from our lives, another one, most often moves in to take its place

  7. I am not sure if every relationship has a shelf life. But, I feel that after treating Bayda so well and making her like a friend, she would have definitely talked to your family before leaving home. We don’t know the reason until it comes from her.

    1. I think she has been watching too many soaps in TV sand thought she was making a dramatic statement ! We will never know what was in her head because she was never one for good manners anyways.

  8. No matter how nice and helping you are to the house helps (part/full time) they are never convinced that we are GOOD! They see us as overlords. I know there are peeps who really misbehave with them but there are also those who treat them with love and respect. But somehow they dont seem to understand. I am sure it was a shock and sense of betrayal; but just move on as this is so regualr with them!
This year my maid of 6 years left for 1 months leave and never came back nor informed me or anything. What to do – such is life with these peeps!!!
Hope you have a helping hand around the house now! 🙂
